Watch Chuck Season 3 Episode 8 Chuck vs. the Fake Name

Last night’s Chuck episode “Chuck Versus the Fake Name” gave us some revelations on the true identities of Casey and Sarah. Chuck’s mission was to play an assassin named Rafe Gruber and it turns out he was hired by our old Soprano friends Paulie Walnuts and the guy who played Big Pussy’s FBI handler. It was great to see the two on screen again, but Paulie didn’t seem the same without dropping the F-Bomb every other word like he was able to on HBO.

Probably the biggest lesson I learned from this episode of Chuck was to watch out for guys with one syllable first names and the last name Gruber. Now you might be wondering what the heck I’m talking about, but for those of you who can remember the first Die Hard movie with Bruce Willis the bad guy’s name was Hans Gruber. Now there is an assassin running around with the name Rafe Gruber! Those Gruber’s are some bad dudes.

Anyway, Sarah reveals that she has been going by a fake name and that her real name is Sam. I can’t say I blame her because if my real name was a common name for the opposite sex I would keep that under wraps too. We also got a pretty strong clue that Casey may be some guy named Alex Coburn which was apparent by the mini-seizure he had when Chuck flashed after Paulie said he looked familiar. I have to say Chuck was impressive when he ripped out Casey’s tooth to try and keep his cover from getting blown.

The episode ends with Chuck realizing that he still has strong feelings for Sam/Sarah, or maybe we’ll just call her Samarah, after she almost gets capped by Rafe Gruber. So Chuck does the stand up thing and dumps Hannah the night after they had slept together. Chuck’s really starting to get this whole spy thing down…he’s ripping people’s teeth out, hanging with Paulie Walnuts, and dumping chicks the night after he sleeps with them. You the man Chuck!
